Home Remedies For Bunions

It is an unnatural growth of bone behind the toe. It mostly happens due to uneven body weight distribution on the bones and tendons of the foot. Due to which the bones stick out. It mostly happens in women, however, it can affect anyone. It is also believed that it can happen by wearing high heeled or too narrow shoes. There are a few other properties as well which contribute to this condition. They are foot injuries, a certain type of arthritis, inheritance and bone deformities since birth.   • Massage

It is one of the best treatment for this condition. It will prevent alleviation of the problem. It also increases the blood circulation and helps with the general discomfort. If the area is regularly massaged it will reduce the size of the bunion and prevent any corn developing around the same. You can rub some warm oil on the area and massage it for 10 to 15 minutes.   • Epsom Salt

Epsom salt contains high content of magnesium, which can help regulate the pH levels. The salt soak can help relieve the pain and also decrease any inflammation or pain. You can mix a handful of the salt in the warm water and mix it. Place the leg in the water till it turns cold. Post that you can dry the feet and massage it with oil. Make sure you do this frequently and multiple times in a week.

  • Exercise

Foot exercise is one of the best ways to reduce the pain and increase the finger flexibility. It also decreases the progress of a bunion. It can strengthen the muscles and prevent it from ever happening.

  • Chamomile

It is an herbal plant with many uses. It can help provide relief from the condition and also help reduce the bunions. It also reduces pain and inflammation. You can prepare a cup of tea using the leaves and drink it. The tea bag can also be placed on the affected area to provide relief. Massaging with chamomile oil can help improve the toe alignment over a period of time.

  • Calendula

Also known as marigold. It is known to have anti-inflammatory properties which can help lessen the pain and inflammation. You can extract the juice by crushing the leaves and apply it to the affected area. You can apply the oil 2 to 3 times a day and let it dry. It will bring relief over a period of time.
